The ChillHouse – Canggu, Bali

  • Type of accommodation: Hotel

  • The Chillhouse Yoga, Surf and Lifestyle retreat was the perfect place to kick off the Bali trip. We stayed in a Double Bungalow which had a large living space with a nice sized private sun deck at the front. The bungalow also had an outdoor bathroom which was perfect to take a shower under the stars at night. The retreat has an option to take a yoga class and surfing class, which I would highly recommend to do. The yoga class was held in a beautiful breezy open air yoga shale which was so relaxing. However, the best part of this retreat was the food especially the banana pancakes. The retreat also has 2 pools, so you can lay by them after a busy day of surfing and yoga.

Hotel Ombak Sunset – Gili Trawangan

  • Type of accommodation: Hotel
  • Explore Wright rating: 10/10
  • This hotel is located on the secluded western side of the island Gili Trawangan in the Gili Islands. This resort is the perfect place to come to if you want to stay away from the hustle and bustle of some of the main areas on Gili Trawangan. At the Ombak Sunset resort we stayed in an Island Bungalow which was unbelievable. The room was spacious and had a stunning outside bathroom. The hotel boasts a large landscape pool with a swim up bar and is just a minute walk from the beach. Top Tip make sure you hire bikes so you can bike to the main strip of the island. The roads are bumpy and make sure you have a good light to get home at night as there are no street lights on the island.

The Ubud Village Hotel – Ubud, Bali

  • Type of accommodation: Hotel

  • The Ubud Village Hotel is located in the middle of the hustling and bustling Monkey Forest Road. However you would never know it from how peaceful and calm you feel as soon as you set foot inside the tranquil hotel. It is just a short walk to the main shopping areas in Ubud, the many restaurants, Ubud Market (which is a must see) and many other attractions in downtown Ubud, including the monkey forest. The room is very nicely furnished and has a gigantic bed which was very comfortable. There are two onsite restaurants at the Ubud Village Hotel: Madu Restaurant, where the breakfast is served, and Maluku Restaurant. The breakfast at Madu was not something I’ll be forgetting anytime soon. The hotel also has 2 nice size pools to relax in the hot Bali sun.
